Broadway Dallas News | NOVEMBER 2023

Posted on November 30th, 2023

Dear Friends,

It’s that time of year again…a time for gratitude and a time to count your blessings.

I am grateful for the amazing team at Broadway Dallas, who help to take care of our wonderful Music Hall, who put up and run all of the amazing shows that come to our theater, who organize and implement our incredible education and community engagement programs, who raise the money to fund those programs, and who spread the word about our shows. And here’s a special shout out to our front of house, security and box office teams who keep our patrons informed, safe and comfortable.

And of course, I’m very grateful to you: our fans, season subscribers, members and donors – for spending your time with us, for supporting us through the years, and for sharing our love of the magic of Broadway.

Happy Holidays! And see you in the lobby!

Our inaugural event kicked off at MJ, and future events will take place at a designated performance during the Dallas engagements of Tina – The Tina Turner Musical and Hairspray. Attendees will enjoy pre-show mixers with complimentary drinks and apps at each selected performance. A ticket to the performance is required for entry. We look forward to seeing you there!

Join us at Galleria Dallas for their Grand Holiday Ice Show benefiting Broadway Dallas. On Sunday, December 3 you will be immersed in the spirit of the season as you celebrate the holidays with a breakfast buffet, face painting, family-friendly activities, and Galleria Dallas’ iconic holiday ice skating show. All proceeds from this event will support Broadway Dallas’ Give A Kid A Seat fundraising campaign which provides free Broadway show tickets to underserved students in our community.

DALLAS ISd DAY EDUCATION PROGRAM

Broadway Dallas and Dallas ISD announced a district-wide Steam education program themed around the Broadway musical Beetlejuice. The T.D. Jakes Foundation joins again this year as the presenting sponsor of the program through a special partnership with the Dallas Mavericks. Over the course of multiple weeks, 3,400 theatre students and teachers from 26 Dallas ISD High Schools will participate in specially created curriculum that relates to the production, taught in classrooms by Broadway Dallas teaching artists. As part of the lesson plan all the participating students and teachers will attend a dedicated performance of Beetlejuice at the Music Hall at Fair Park.

THE BROADWAY LEAGUE EDUCATION FORUM

The Broadway Dallas Education and Community Partnerships department had the honor of presenting at The Broadway League’s 2023 Education and Engagement Forum in New York City, sharing all about our Dallas ISD Day Education program. We enjoyed discussing our learnings and successes with colleagues and organizations from across the country!
