Dallas DISD Day

Each year, at no cost to them, 3,400 Dallas ISD high school students converge on the Music Hall at Fair Park for a dedicated performance of a Broadway production. Far more than just a day, their school-year experience includes multiple classroom sessions of STEM curriculum inspired by the show. Weaving Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics into the world of a Broadway show, Broadway Dallas aspires to build a foundation for these high school youth to succeed in college and careers both inside and outside the arts.

2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR PROGRAM

This year’s show is the 8-time Tony-award winning HADESTOWN. Classroom curriculum will center around costume technology, centering in on the “T- technology” and “E-engineering”, of STEM. Students will utilize web-based software to explore parametric design, a technique in which engineers use algorithms to create complex, customized products or structures. Students will use the technology to engineer their own modern costumes to depict these ancient characters. 

Student final projects will be on display at the Music Hall for their dedicated performance of the show on Thursday, February 25, 2025.

2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR PROGRAM

In September 2025, to launch the school year and the 100^th Anniversary of the Music Hall, Broadway Dallas plans to double the size of the Dallas ISD Day program to serve 6,800 students and create Dallas County School Day to complement Dallas ISD Day.

• Unlike producing theaters, as a presenting organization, Broadway Dallas must purchase each ticket we provide complimentary from the commercial producers of each show.
