Dear Friends,

Thanksgiving is next week, and I am filled with gratitude. Despite the fact that we remain in the grasp of a global pandemic that has essentially shut down DSM’s core business, I can’t help but feel thankful for the abundance of good in my life.

I am grateful to the DSM staff who have remained steadfast in their dedication to our mission by creating countless new programs and activities that keep the spirit of Broadway in our hearts, even while Broadway and the Music Hall remain dark.

I am grateful to our Board of Directors and benefactors who have continued to provide their expertise, words of encouragement, and financial support during this crisis.

I am grateful to our partners Broadway Across America, the City of Dallas, Spectra/Fair Park First, and many others for continuing to make DSM and its mission a priority, even as they are pulled to countless other equally vital issues.

But mostly, I am grateful to you, our fans. Without you, we are just singing and dancing in a big empty room. You breathe life into what we do, and without YOU it’s all for nothing.

So please stay safe, please be patient, and please join me in gratitude for the not-too-distant end to this trying time we are all experiencing together.

Happy Thanksgiving!

BLACK ART MATTERS: LIVE

DSM’s Black Art Matters series went LIVE as part of the Dallas Digithon, a 24-hour online, streaming variety show starring and benefiting Dallas artists in order to raise awareness for those who are unemployed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The session featured a panel and performances from Dallas’ own Dr. Audra Scott, Liz Mikel, Sasha Maya Ada, and Cherish Love Robinson. Click here to watch Black Art Matters: Live.

NATIONAL PHILANTHROPY DAY

Just as Dallas and the Association of Fundraising Professionals honored the stars of philanthropy in our community at the 35th annual celebration for National Philanthropy Day on November 13, 2020, DSM celebrates our wonderful donors and supporters. Please meet CenterStage Shimmering Star donors and season subscribers Bob and Barthy Gaitonde.

“Bob & I have been season ticket holders of DSM for over 25 years. We love the rewarding and transformative experience of live theater. It promotes education and literacy as well. Can’t wait for the lights to come back on stage!” -Barthy Gaitonde
