All In A Day’s Work: 2016 NHSMTA │DAY 1│

DAY 1
It’s that time of year again! DSM’s High School Musical Theatre Award-winning Best Actor and Actress, John Fredrickson and Kaiden Maines, are off to New York City to compete in the 2016 National Highs School Musical Theatre Awards (NHSMTA)! John and Kaiden will participate in a week-long training intensive with Broadway industry professionals and faculty members of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, in preparation for their Broadway debut on Monday, June 27th at the Minskoff Theatre.
Now let’s turn it over to John and Kaiden, to hear about DAY 1 and their arrival in NYC!
Hey DSM fans!
Today was my first day in New York and it really is the city that never sleeps! We woke up and got on an airplane this morning at DFW and we arrived in New York at about noon.
When we arrived in the city, John, Tina, and I ate lunch at The Brazen Fox and I had the greatest hamburger of my life.
Then we went to the rehearsal hall at NYU and started working on the opening number right away! We will begin auditioning and working throughout the week and I can’t wait to work with this AMAZING staff here at NYU! -Kaiden

The first day was incredible!! This is my first time ever in New York and the city is stunning!! The people we have met are all so incredibly talented, fun, and kind! Right now we are in the middle of our medley auditions where we’re singing and dancing! it’s tough but it is a joyride! Thank you DSM! –John
