About Broadway Dallas

As the premier presenter of Broadway shows in North Texas, Broadway Dallas welcomes more than 400,000 patrons each year to our historic home, the Music Hall at Fair Park, which is celebrating its 100th Anniversary this season, and to the Winspear Opera House.

As a non-profit organization, Broadway Dallas annually serves more than 68,000 students and their families, including thousands of Dallas ISD students — who need our help the most — through our program – Broadway Dallas Education: On Stage, In Classrooms, and Throughout the Community.

At Broadway Dallas, our mission is to entertain, educate, engage and enrich Dallas.

our history

Broadway Dallas began in 1941 as Opera Under the Stars in the Band Shell at Fair Park. Opening night came on June 12, 1941, with a production of Sigmund Romberg’s Blossom Time, an operetta based on the life of Franz Schubert.
