Dallas County School Days

For five years running, Broadway Dallas has partnered with Dallas middle and high schools to create the integrated experiences known as Dallas County Schools Day and Dallas ISD Day, in which more than 5,000 students and teachers work on custom STEAM-focused curriculum aligned with one of that season’s hottest shows.

To help students understand that theatre is more than just what audiences see on stage, custom curriculum is designed to integrate the technical elements of theatre production, in addition to teaching technology, career readiness, and cultural awareness. Students have created technical projects for shows such as Hamilton, Ain’t Too Proud, Beetlejuice, Hadestown, and The Wiz.

Upon completion, student work is displayed throughout the Music Hall, and all participating students and teachers attend a dedicated student performance. Student work can be viewed at the galleries linked below.

THE WIZ Dallas ISD and Dallas County School Days are presented by The Moody Foundation, with generous support from:

Fichtenbaum Charitable Trust, H-E-B/Central Market, Texas Counter Fitters, Harold Simmons Foundation, The Rosewood Corporation, Galleria Dallas, The Dallas Education Foundation, and individual donors who care deeply about arts education.
