Community Partnerships form deep connections with community partners and works to bring the Spirit of Broadway across the North Texas Region. With a focus on South Dallas/Fair Park, our Community Partnerships programs center on racial equity, supporting local artists, and using theatre for good.
Broadway Dallas is proud to offer free and reduced-priced tickets to our community and educational partners across the North Texas region.
Broadway Dallas cares
Understanding the importance of helping provide a strong social service foundation to our South Dallas neighbors, Broadway Dallas Cares places Broadway Dallas employees, board members, and donors in the heart of South Dallas, through active volunteer days, monthly service opportunities, and coordinated donation drives aligned with our season. Through our partnership with Jubilee Park Community Center, Broadway Dallas Cares has worked more than 600+ volunteer hours, helping to feed more than 6,000+ food-insecure South Dallas families.
Black art matters
What is Black Art Matters?
Black Art Matter: Learning Roots formerly known as the monthly interview series( 2020-2024) serves as a creative community for highly trained professional local theatre artists of the Global Majority to enhance their skills in the areas of musical theatre, dance and acting which began in 2022. Allowing the artists and instructors the opportunity to explore new ways to expand the quality of auditions, rehearsal processes, devised storytelling, and performances. Each year the program will consist of a series of Intensives and Workshops where the instructors and participants will receive artist stipends for their professional development. The goal is to cultivate the power of performance art freely amongst a collective of culturally & individually unique artists. To receive updates, sign up here: BAM Email Notices
Connectix
Broadway Dallas is proud to offer free and reduced-priced tickets to our Fair Park/South Dallas community-based partners and members. In addition to ticket access, our partners receive exclusive pre-show and post-show engagement opportunities, transportation, and meals. We use this program to ensure that Broadway Dallas is accessible for all. South Dallas Stories: Uprooted
As a key component to our Racial Equity journey, Broadway Dallas has dedicated a prominent space in the Music Hall lobby for an exhibit, entitled South Dallas Stories: Uprooted, that shares artistic narratives from our South Dallas neighbors who have been impacted by the inequities of the past.
Updated periodically, the exhibition will share new narratives and expose truths intended to drive transformation within Broadway Dallas and inspire the community.
This space on our website serves to further illuminate and share the content contained in the lobby exhibit. Next time you are in the Music Hall, we invite you to visit the South Dallas Stories: Uprooted exhibit in person (located in the Box Office Lobby)
Broadway Dallas Community Day
Broadway Dallas Community Day is an annual early August celebration that brings together Community Partners, local artists, vendors, and families for an afternoon of connection and fun. This free indoor event features live entertainment, performances, dance activities, food and beverages, raffle prizes, and a variety of family-friendly experiences designed to celebrate and strengthen our community.
