Music Hall 100

Centennial Stories – A Collection of Music Hall Memories

The Music Hall at Fair Park opened its doors in October of 1925.  For the past 100 years, this public gathering place has been a cornerstone of the Dallas community.  Whether for civic events, popular and classical music concerts, performances by The Dallas Opera, comedy events, or Broadway musicals – for the last century, the Music Hall has been a key part of the fabric of Dallas, and the lives of its residents, since day one.

WE WANT TO SHARE YOUR MUSIC HALL MEMORIES

Perhaps you…

  • Saw Maria Callas perform with the Dallas Opera…
  • Proposed to your spouse just before the curtain went up at a performance of Les Misérables…
  • Performed in Brigadoon or one of countless other locally produced shows…
  • Were in the audience when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr spoke…

Our favorite 100 stories will be edited and shared as part of an online archive, on social media, and a handful will also be part of a forthcoming documentary to be broadcast locally this October.

If you are interested in sharing your favorite Music Hall Memory please schedule an appointment below to record your story the next time you are coming to a show.  We are scheduling these interview appointments in 15 minute increments during the 2 hours before each performance of our upcoming Broadway shows.

Please choose a time that works for you and we will be waiting at your appointed time to record your story at a video studio set up in the Music Hall lobby.

Note:

  • If you have souvenirs or memorabilia that relate to your story (Playbill, ticket stubs, photos, etc) – please bring them with you as we would love to include them in your video.
  • You may have more than one person in your video – you can tell your story together.
  • You must have a ticket to the performance on the day you are scheduled to be recorded.
  • You will be required to sign a release form which will allow us to use the video of you for promotional purposes.
